One Day, I WILL Have a Neon Sign…

Neon mania isn't just for the fashion world. Neon in terms of Neon signage has seen a huge comeback, and I for one, love it!

Predominately seen on 1950’s buildings (think diners, cafes, hotels, motels etc), take-out restaurants, cheesy Chinese restaurant logos that seemingly have nothing to do with Chinese restaurants (example; the neon bike rider seen on the ‘Huangs Chinese Take Away’ window around the corner from my house…), conveniences and store-fronts, Neon signage is more and more being seen on the inside of buildings.

Being seen used as brand signage, way-finding guides, company logos, quirky art installations and even inside the home making statements with phrases, motto's and inspirational quotes, the world of neon has never looked so cool.

Bringing a sense of colour, light and retro flair into your space is such a fun idea. Many companies now specialise in making interior signs and accommodate most budgets.

I think it is such a cool idea. And the beauty of a neon installation is that you can always turn it off, take it off the wall or get rid of it completely if it gets too much. These types of ‘temporary’ installations are just what we need to bring that special something into our homes and work places, so why not give it a go. There's even some tacky goodness to be found on eBay (please though, be very selective...we don't want a Huangs Chinese Take Away situation occurring at your place!!)

With a huge range of colours, text options and images available, you are sure to be able to create just the ticket for your place.

Take a look at some of my favourite NEON AMAZINGNESS below…What do you think?? Tweet me your thoughts on Twitter.

Such a  romantic bedroom.

Very cool statement piece against the concrete wall. The neon provides an unexpected element in a fairly streamlined and simple space; adding colour, light and that sense quirk.

The Ace Hotel NYC. A piece of design perfection. Such a cool place to stay or even just hang out. A must see for anyone visiting NYC.

Wouldn't mind if my humble abode looked like this. The subtlety
of the neon is just the thing to reflect off the glossy walls, balance the colours in the room and provide an alternative light source to the overhead lighting and table lamp.
